Nemo Marine Systems has invested thousands of hours in research and development to refine and combine the most consistenly successful techniques and approaches employed by world experts in reefkeeping such as Julian Sprung and J.Charles Delbeek, Robert Fenner, Eric Borneman, Anthony Calfo, Alf Nilsen, Peter Wilkens and others. Many techniques were only partially successful, but we learned could be easily improved by combining with existing methods or addressing inherent weaknesses in the technique.

High-Quality Live Sand

Our sand is also very high quality. We use CaribSea Ocean-Direct as our base and then super-charge innoculate it with our own live sand from our sand bed tanks.

High-Quality Live Rock

There is simply no substitute for High-Quality Live Rock.We generally purchase live rock from Walt Smith International via Pacifiic Aqua Farms. We then cure, pamper, illuminate, innoculate and supplement the rock for at least one month before sale.

High-Performance Filtration

You can pull-out the main filtration platform(even while the system is still running!) for easy access that makes simple maintenance tasks EVEN easier.

Dedicated Refugium

All our system inlcude a dedicated, gravity-fed refugium, which includes our own special Nemo Marine Systems recipe of reef mud, sand, rubble and Chaetomorpha algae. (see above)

Dedicated Digital Controller

All Nemo Marine Systems aquariums are equipped with state-of-the art digital controllers from Neptune Systems and Digital Aquatics.

We have standardized our components so that we offer a limited selection of high-end, high-performance components which have been tested and perform to our standards.

High Efficiency, Low Energy

As standard practice, we only employ the most energy-efficient components (which are also usually the best). T5 lighting, electronic ballasts, ultra-low Wattage pumps.

Ultra-quiet

We strive to achieve high performance and consistent results without compromise. Our systems are designed from top-to-bottom be ultra-quiet and still deliver high performance.

Wavemakers

All our systems include integrated wavemakers. We offer both the SCWD from 3iQ and OceansMotions.

Automatic Fill

All our systems include an automatic top-off system. Either a top-off vessel or a plumbed Reverse-Osmosis/DI system from SpectraPure.
